Dread Realms is developed and operated by Necrotic Studios, a sole-proprietor independent game development studio. When this policy refers to "we", "us", or "the studio", it means Necrotic Studios.

We collect only what is necessary to operate the site and communicate with you.

Account information: If you register for an account, we collect your username, email address, and a hashed (never plaintext) password. You may optionally upload a profile picture.

Wishlist and contact form submissions: When you submit your email via the wishlist or contact form, we store that email address and the date of submission.

Usage data: We may collect basic, anonymised data about how the site is used — pages visited, general geographic region, browser type. This data is not linked to your identity.

What we do not collect: We do not collect payment information. We do not collect information from children under 13. We do not run advertising trackers or sell data to third parties.

We use collected information solely for the following purposes:

• To operate your account and provide access to account features
• To send development updates, alpha access notifications, and announcements — only to users who have explicitly opted in via the wishlist
• To respond to contact form submissions
• To improve the site based on anonymised usage patterns
• To enforce our Terms of Service and maintain site security

We will never use your email for marketing unrelated to Dread Realms or Necrotic Studios projects.

Account data is stored in a hosted database with access controls and encryption at rest. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored or transmitted in plaintext.

We take reasonable technical precautions to protect your data, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

Data is stored on servers located in the United States. If you are accessing the site from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Wishlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Every communication we send includes an unsubscribe link.

We use a small number of third-party services to operate the site. These services have their own privacy policies and may process data on our behalf:

• Hosting provider — processes web traffic and stores site assets
• Database provider — stores account and wishlist data
• Email service provider — used to send wishlist and announcement emails

We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, or any advertising networks. We do not share your data with data brokers.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for email communications at any time
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR. If you are located in California, you have additional rights under CCPA. Contact us to exercise these rights.

We use session cookies to keep you logged in to your account. These are strictly necessary for account functionality and are not used for tracking or advertising.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as the site and game develop. Material changes will be communicated via the devlog or by email to registered accounts. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
